Hello!

Was just wondering if there is an upgrade to "Northern Cloth Scavenging" just with Embercloth instead, since "Northern Cloth Scavenging" is kinda useless now.

Please bother to use Search function of forum before posting.

It works in Cataclysm as before i.e. dropping additional cloths in instances only lootable for Tailors and also additional drops when farming outside just not as obvious.

No need to learn it.

Dude you are right to question it.

I levelled my warrior tank first with mining/jc.

Now my Priest has just hit 85 with tailoring/enchanting.

I have noticed ABSOLUTELY NO difference in the amount of cloth I have received whilst levelling and in dungeons. I could swear on my life that to date my Priest has received more cloth in the post from the Warrior than she has looted herself.

Embercloth drop rates seem very very low. Maybe I'm doing something wrong...

The old frostweave scavenging works for embercloth, it's pretty obvious in heroics when people loot a corpse and then you'll be able to loot additional cloth off of it.

Where is the search function on this forums?

On topic, I would love to check if learning Northrend scavenging is actually required to have the Cataclism version but, it will take me a while to get to that test myself. Anyone?

From rough observations of levelling up 3 toons, one a tailor and two that arent, I would say that it does still work. The trouble is that there is a large % of mobs that simply dont drop cloth in the first place coughdeepholmcough so you dont accumulate much while levelling. Inside instances I tend to get a couple of stacks a run though.

I cant find the source of my info anymore, but I seem to have read that you gotta have a 400 skill in tailoring for the bonus to work on Emberweave. Anyone can confirm this?

Cataclysm hotfixes - Updated Jan 3 (at this moment, on page 2 of mmo-champion:

Tailoring

* Tailors with 400 skill or higher should now receive additional cloth drops 50% of the time from anything that drops cloth, up from 25%.

BTW, anyone already actually found the search function in this forums?
Looks like it's not only the expansions that are being rushed into live :D

Isn't the Search function the big white box with the Magnifying Glass above your toons head top right?

There is a blog somewhere about all the fancy things you can put into the Search box to narrow it down to forums, armory etc.

It varies a lot. The absolutely best non-instance place to farm cloth, is in Tol Barad. Whenever I need more cloth, I kill those orcs who are attacking each other, they drop cloths at least half of the time. And the best part is, they'll have under 20k hp after hitting each others for a few secs.

There's a daily quest where you have to kill 5 of these. Don't farm cloths when that daily is offered, and there's a good chance you'll have the mobs for yourself, since most players will ignore them. You'll have several stacks in just a few minutes.

Yes, as Cerúlean said, it is the big white box top right which says:

"Search the Armory, forums and more..."

;)

Example, type in Embercloth it gives (for me now)

Search results for Embercloth

All 13
Characters 1
Forums 13

Click on the 'Forums' tag to see all forum posts with the term searched.

If you want to find a player do the same under 'Character' etc.

it does the same thing as the actual Search page;

Theres a quest in the pyramid in uldum with indiana jones

Where you have to loot 5 starlights or similar.

Lots of mobs spawn but they only have 20k health

they drop the same amount of cloth as other high lvls with much more health,

I looted about 10 stacks of cloth in there when i was too lazy to quest for a while.
